The Second International Film Festival featuring war films is being held 1 – 5 October  in Chalôns-en-Champagne , Mourmelon and Suippes in France’s Champagne-Ardenne region.

The 5 day festival will approach the theme of war from a fresh, multi-faceted and international perspective, with previews of previously unseen films, cine-concerts, theme nights, special screenings and guests from the UK and around the world.

An event dedicated to the portrayal of war and conflict, the WAR ON SCREEN International Film Festival will feature nearly 80 films from around the world covering WW1, WW2, The ‘Third World War’, Sarajevo and much more.  New films, old favourites and shorts will be screened alongside TV & video material, and films aimed at young audiences.

The festival marks a key moment nationally as part of the Centenary of WW1.  Networking and discussion sessions will take place alongside international competitions for feature and short films.  See

In 2013, the first War On Screen Festival drew a 6,000 strong audience and screened 77 films including 22 previews.  The 2014 Festival will be equally successful in introducing to the public the variety of relationships that exist between cinema and wars past, present and future.  The opening ceremony is at 19.15 on 1 October and a ticket for all events costs €60.
