The Annual Photo Festival in Montier-en-Der, Champagne-Ardenne 20 – 23rd November is a unique event in Europe.

Now in it’s 18th year, this international festival showcasing the art of wildlife and nature photography attracts more than 42,000 visitors, professional and amateur nature photographers and enthusiasts.

Held in Montier-en-Der, near the Lac du Der, this is an important area for nature and wildlife, particularly birds, and the event coincides with the spectacular annual crane migration.

The festival itself covers 15 sites exhibiting more than 2,000 photos, demonstrations and new equipment, entertainment, with 40 hours of guest lectures.

Guest of honour this year is renowned palaeontologist Yves Coppens, who discovered ‘Lucy’, grandmother of humanity.  He will lecture and host a Q&A session at  4 pm Saturday 22nd November, Saint-Dizier.
